Between the periphery

2016

‘Between the periphery’ is an installation that divides but not absolutely invisible to acknowledge the another.

This installation is made by two separate works, ‘Neither here nor there’(2015) and ‘Stage-less stage’(2016). ‘Stage-less Stage’ is activated by a frequency that is normally inaudible to the human ear. This sound source comes from a mobile phone and played through textile transducers and speakers. The sound equipment is attached to the main structure, translating its inaudible sound into a physical movement. Over time, vibrations slowly deteriorate the surface material (paper clay) of the structure.

The mesh curtain allows for each work to be experienced together and individually. Three chairs are positioned inside and outside of the installation. It is designed to sit and experience ongoing circumstances in a limited and partial way. The experience of the environment changes depending on viewer's physical position in the space.
